FORMAT : All Youths divisions are Double elimination and all Adult divisions are single elimination.
TIME LIMITS: In the Kids & Youth Divisions, matches will be 3 minutes long. Teen Matches 4 mins long. Men & Women White belt Divisions will be 5 minutes in length. Men`s & Women Blue belt matches will be 6 minutes. Men`s Purple, Brown/Black will be 7 minutes..
Illegal Techniques:
1. No heel hooks , no neck cranks or can-openers, no twisting leg locks, no toe holds (novice division.) .
2. No attacks to the front of the windpipe ,eyes ,small joints or groin , No fish hooks , no hair pulling , no biting . No hands , elbows , and knees , on the face .
3. No striking of any kind .
4. NO SLAMMING your opponent to the mat .
If the contest does not end by submission , the match will be decided via a point system. If the score is tied match will be decided by the most advantages recorded . If still not decided , there will be a 1 minute overtime or referee decision .
CHILDREN age 6 – 10 can not use any submission holds . Ages 11-12 no chokes, 13 – 17 can apply submissions, But no leg or wrist locks .
POINT SYSTEM
Mount Position = 4 Points . Takedown = 2 Points .
Rear Mount w/ hooks = 4 Points . Sweep = 2 Points .
Passing the Guard = 3 Points . Knee on Stomach = 2 Points .
Avoiding contact I.E.(Running away) = Warning, 2 point deduction , Disqualification
Any intentional use of an illegal technique, abuse of an official or show of poor sportsmanship will result in immediate disqualification or ejection of the competitor or spectator.
Competitors from same school will not meet each other until it is no longer avoidable. except in round robin format where you compete against everyone in your division.
The Referee’s decision is final.

Children’s Divisions will be assigned on the mat, based on age first, experience level and finally weight .We reserve the right to expand or combine divisions to accommodate.

I the undersigned, hereby release Bravado Jiu-Jitsu Academy, the Peel District School Board and all persons associated with the event in any capacity, from any liability due to injuries, etc. that may incur as a result of attendance and/or participation at the above mentioned specified events. Furthermore, I hereby waive any compensation whatsoever for the use of pictures, movies, media coverage, etc. utilized by those associated with this event at any time. I clearly understand that the fighting aspect of this sport and competitions involve bodily contact. I have read understood and agree to abide by the rules associated with this event and assume all responsibilities and any associated liabilities or infringement of such rules. Additionally, I am fully aware of my personal medical condition and hereby certify that I am mentally and physically fit to compete at the said Martial Arts championship
